Emma Watson 'Would Consider' Doing the '50 Shades of Grey' Movie

Emma Watson's grown up a lot since she was first introduced to the world in the Harry Potterseries, but is she ready for big screen S&M? Well, she certainly hasn't ruled it out. 

The Watson 50 Shades of Grey rumors are back again after the 22-year-old actress told theSun she's open to the idea of playing Anastasia Steele, the young college student who's sexual world is cracked wide open after meeting the suave but cold Christian Grey. When asked about the project, Watson said she'd have to get familiar with the material before making a decision:

The thing is I haven’t read any of the book because I haven’t read a script so it’s quite difficult to know what I’m turning down potentially but I hear it’s quite raunchy. I mean if there’s interesting character development and there’s an interesting story then I would consider it."

Not since Twilight and the Hunger Games has a bestseller-turned-movie inspired such active casting speculation. Besides Watson, names like Selena Gomez, Alexis Bledel and Nina Dobrev have been mentioned as potential Anastasias, but no one's been offered the part officially.

Shades' author, E.L. James, does however have a short wish-list of stars for the two coveted roles. "Everybody involved will have input into [casting]," she told Katie Couric earlier this month. "I have I think three people who could fit, I think could play Christian and about four who could play Ana. And I'm not going to tell you any of them." Guess we'll just have to wait and see whether or not Hermione is on that list.

Emma Watson has had a busy day! She started off with a visit to BBC Radio 1 in sexy new specs, and then put on a quite bizarre pants-dress thing later to promote her new movie, The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

The star, who grew up before our very eyes as Hermione, has certainly come into her own over the last few years. She's funky and has a unique sense of style, but remains classically beautiful and sophisticated. Think about it, she's only 22! Compared to other stars in Hollywood that age, this girl's got it together. Very together.

Now that her Harry Potter days are behind her, Watson is becoming known as a versatile actress who can hold her own without magic. There's tons of hype over her new project, and she has many more in the works! Don't expect this gal to be going anywhere soon.

• Plot: An awkward and introverted young man starts high school and gets befriended by two seniors who pull him out of his shell.

I’m a sucker for a coming of age movie, and I have to admit that while I really enjoyed “The Perks of Being a Wallflower”, it was also a hard movie to watch as I so strongly related to the title character.

Charlie (Logan Lerman) is nervous about starting high school, and his first day, the only connection he makes is with his English teacher (Paul Rudd).  Later, Charlie befriends step-siblings Sam (Emma Watson) and Patick (Ezra Miller).  Sam and Patrick take him to a party where Charlie eats a pot brownie.  While under the influence, Charlie tells Sam that his best friend committed suicide the year before.  She and Patrick make Charlie a part of their group.  Charlie starts to feel accepted, but he is still haunted by memories of his past – memories that won’t stay buried.

“The Perks of Being a Wallflower” benefits from having Chbosky write the screenplay and direct his own novel.  No one knows these characters better than he does, and with the talented cast he put together, the movie is both a joy to watch and yet extremely heartbreaking, too.

Emma Watson proves she is much more than Hermione Granger with the strongest post-Potter performance of any of her co-stars.  Logan Lerman gives the performance of his young career, and if the movie gets seen by the right people, this could be a star-making turn for Ezra Miller.

“The Perks of Being a Wallflower” is possibly the best “coming of age” movie of the of the last decade or so.

At a screening of her new film, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, the Harry Potter star stopped photographers and onlookers in their tracks when she stepped out in a couture white gown with strategically placed cutouts.

It was those cutouts that garnered the most attention. As Watson strutted and posed, cameras caught a serious glimpse of side boob. The 22-year-old actress wasn't fazed. Watson's familiar with revealing ensembles whether intentional or accidental. Earlier on her Wallflower promotional run, Watson's low-cut halter dress gave way unexpectedly, flashing the crowd more than just side boob.

Actress Emma Watson insisted on performing a car stunt in The Perks Of Being A Wallflower as she felt it was important for her to experience the adrenaline-pumping thrill.
The Brit stars as free-spirited teen Sam in the coming-of-age drama, which features a central scene in which her character stands up in the backseat of a car through the sunroof, and stretches out her arms as her pal drives through a tunnel.
Watson reveals a team of stunt experts wanted to hire a stand-in, but she was adamant she should be the one to film the key moment.
She tells U.K. TV show Daybreak, "It was so amazing. It was really funny; the stunt team on the film really didn't want to let me do it. It was meant to be a stunt girl but I was like, 'You can't not let me have that moment!' It was weirdly emotional. It really felt like... metaphorically like I was coming through something. It was cool."
Watson also admits playing an ordinary student gave her insight into the high school experiences she missed out on growing up on the Harry Potter movie sets.
She says, "She's this awesome character and very different to obviously what I've done before so it was really nice. I kind of got to have a bit of what I didn't have. Just the experience of making it has been really meaningful to me."
